Memorial Day weekend is here, which means some morning and daytime TV shows will be taking time off to enjoy the holiday.
While some shows are adjusting their schedules for Memorial Day on Monday, May 25, TV’s three major morning shows will all seemingly air new episodes on the holiday. Monday’s episode of CBS Mornings will feature a new installment of David Begnaud‘s “Beg-Knows America” series, in which he highlights everyday heroes across the country.
On Good Morning America, ABC e-commerce editor Tory Johnson will show off items perfect for viewers’ holiday celebrations during a Memorial Day-themed edition of “Deals & Steals.” Though NBC‘s Today has not announced plans for its Monday broadcast, it is likely the show’s 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. ET news hours will be live, while the third hour and Today With Jenna & Sheinelle will likely be prerecorded.
Many morning show hosts did not appear on their respective shows on Friday, May 22, seemingly getting a head start on the long weekend. Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, and Lara Spencer were all absent from GMA, while Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker, Carson Daly, Jenna Bush Hager, and Sheinelle Jones took the day off from Today.
Guthrie and Roker’s absences, in particular, came one day after they made a surprise appearance in the penultimate episode of HBO Max‘s Hacks. In the episode, Jean Smart‘s Deborah Vance stopped by Studio 1A to promote her Central Park show after her Madison Square Garden comeback performance was sabotaged. “If you are in the tri-state area, get out to Central Park. See Deborah Vance, the one and only,” Guthrie told Today viewers during the pretend broadcast.

Live With Kelly and Mark will also air a new episode on Monday. However, it’s possible the episode could be prerecorded due to the holiday weekend. Jon Cryer will stop by the show to talk about his new role in the musical The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, while Kevin Jonas will chat about his new music with Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos. Monica Mangin will also share tips on summer entertaining in a special “Get Ready for Summer Week” segment.
Like some of TV’s morning show hosts, the cast of The View also started their holiday weekend early. The series aired a rerun on Friday, featuring interviews with Nikki Glaser and the stars of Running Point, Kate Hudson and Justin Theroux. The View will once again air a previous episode on Monday.
Other syndicated talk shows, such as Tamron Hall, The Drew Barrymore Show, and The Kelly Clarkson Show, all appear to be airing repeat episodes on Memorial Day.
