On a night filled with high energy, local pride and historic firsts, the Ellwood Christian Academy Eagles hosted Keith Middle-High School in a highly anticipated matchup under the lights of Ellwood's new football field.

This wasn’t just any game—it was homecoming. And it marked the first of many for the Eagles. The electric atmosphere pulsed through the stands, as alumni, students and community members packed into the venue.

The Eagles and the Bears battled in for four quarters, but the Bears were able to get a 28-6 victory against the Eagles. Tyler Muse, Glenn Johnson, Malcolm Jones and Eric Hall, all were able to make big plays and out points on the score board for the Bears. Khmarion McMillan had the only touchdown for the Eagles.

Ellwood's homecoming court included: Elementary King-Brayden Hubbard; Homecoming Prince-Asa Fortier; Homecoming Princess-Skyla Withers; Homecoming Queen-Abril Johnson and Homecoming King-Rashaan Rasberry

Ellwood will travel to Verbena next Friday, Sept. 18 to face Verbena High School at 7 p.m.
