Americans have a serious appetite for ice cream: U.S. producers churn out roughly 1.3 billion gallons of ice cream annually, making it a major segment of the country's dairy industry, which supports more than 26,000 direct jobs and pumps a staggering $11.6 billion into the national economy each year. Using Google Trends search data for the 12-month period ending in July 2026, researchers at Trace One analyzed which ice cream brands have the highest search interest in each state.
