The Preliminary estimates show about 879,785 total ballots were cast in Alabama’s May 19, 2026, primary election, with overall turnout around 23.12% of registered voters statewide. As of May 20, all 67 counties reported. While this information did come from the Secretary of State website, they are still considered to be unofficial. Most of those ballots were in the Republican primary, since Alabama’s GOP races for governor, Senate, attorney general, and other statewide offices were far more competitive this cycle.
