The National Weather Service reports that a "large and extremely dangerous" tornado is currently in Selma.
Perry County is under a tornado watch until 1 p.m. and is under an enhanced risk for other severe weather threats.
A tornado watch is in effect for Selma until 5 p.m. and other counties in the western portion of the Black Belt.
Most of the Black Belt region is under a slight risk for severe weather tonight, with a tornado watch issued for Dallas County until 7 p.m.

A flood watch as been issued for Dallas, Greene, Hale, Marengo, Perry, and Sumter counties through the evening.
Dallas County is under a severe thunderstorm watch until 8 p.m. tonight.
