Community Violence Intervention Summit to be held on April 12-13

Selma Mayor James Perkins Jr. and Montgomery Mayor Steven Reed will lead the 2024 Community Violence Intervention Summit on April 12 and 13. 

"Through collaborative panel diversions and breakout sessions, this summit will address the issue of gun violence and discuss how we can work together to make our communities safer," said a post on the City of Montgomery's Facebook page.

This year's event is titled "Partnering for a Safer Community" and will be held at the Embassy Suites Montgomery Hotel & Conference Center on 300 Tallapoosa Street in Montgomery. 

The April 12 event will be held at 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. The April 13 event will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
