Today, I want to share thefourpillars for healthy grocery shopping:
Focus on Whole, Real, Unprocessed Foods: Choose foods generously provided by Mother Nature — “foods asfoundand foods as grown.”
Shop the Periphery: Concentrate your shopping around the perimeter of the store. In most grocery outlets, you’llfind whole, real foods in the outer aisles.
Beware of Dubious Health Claims:Don’tbe swayed by flashy phrases like “contains whole grains” or “made with real fruit” on packages. These are often indicators of factory-made, not nature-made, foods.
Vet Packaged Products: If you do reach for a packaged product, quickly scan its ingredients list. If itcontainswords that youcan’tpronounce or ingredients youwouldn’tfind in your own kitchen, leave it on the shelf.
