Legal Services Alabama (LSA) will host two “Exceptional Child, Exceptional Service” special education legal clinics in Selma and Demopolis on June 16 and 22 respectively.

Parents and guardians can learn more about special education programs, what makes students eligible for them and creating an Individualized Education Plan or IEP.

"Many schools are reluctant to use IEPS, and guardians of students frequently must involve themselves in the process of ensuring their child is receiving an appropriate education," said a press release from LSA.

Clinics will be held at the following dates and locations:

Friday, June 16

Selma Public Library, GED Room

1103 Selma Ave, Selma

1 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Thursday, June 22nd

Theo Ratliff Activity Center

306 1st Ave, Demopolis

1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
