The Demopolis City Council has approved a $17.5 million budget for the next fiscal year, an increase of almost 31% over the current budget.

The current budget is $13.4 million. The budget for the next fiscal year, which starts on Oct. 1, requires drawing $3.4 million from the city’s reserves. The city drew out $1 million from reserves for the current budget.
