A $1,276,500 Site Evaluation and Economic Development Strategy (SEEDS) grant has been secured by the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce’s (MACC) Economic Development Team to buy the Del Sol property for the expansion of industrial development.

“Our mission at the Montgomery Chamber is clear: we drive growth for our region through strong public and private partnerships with a commitment to advancing economic opportunities,” said Stacia Robinson, Chairman of MACC. “By investing in site readiness, we’re not just preparing land—we’re preparing the region for long-term economic success.”

The property is an 111-acre area zoned as light industrial use that will reportedly provide access to transportation infrastructure and sits adjacent to the five-lane U.S. Highway 31 and near Interstate 65, Interstate 85, and the Montgomery Regional Airport.

A press release from the chamber said that acquiring the land "aligns" with industrial expansion primarily driven by the Montgomery Intermodal Container Transfer Facility (ICTF).

The ICTF is part of Alabama’s Southeast Logistics Hub said to "enhance freight mobility, reduce transportation costs, and streamline supply chain operations, further strengthening Montgomery and the surrounding region as a prime destination for manufacturers and distributors."

"The SEEDS program gives us the additional resources we need to identify properties for industrial development and bring them to the open market in a timely manner," said Liston Eddins on behalf of the Industrial Development Board. "The sooner we get the properties to the open market; the sooner we have more jobs for the people in the region."

"The Industrial Development Board (IDB) wishes to express our sincere appreciation for the tireless effort of our economic development team and the Montgomery Chamber. The IDB, the economic development arm, and the Montgomery Chamber enjoy a positive team approach."
