A man has been arrested and another is being sought in connection to a shooting in Marion on July 12 that left a bystander with injuries.
An announcement from the Marion Police Department (MPD) stated that a male bystander sustained non-life threatening injuries at the scene where 56 shell casings were recovered.
Buildings and vehicles that were occupied and unoccupied were hit during the incident, said the announcement.
Later that day the first suspect, Javien Tyrese Sewell, 25, of Bessemer, was arrested at an apartment at Cahaba Heights in Marion.
He was placed in the Bibb County Jail without bond and now faces charges of first degree assault, two counts of shooting into an occupied vehicle and reckless endangerment.
The second suspect, Jeremiah Orlando Crawford aka “Bill”, 21, of Selma, is a black male standing at 5'6" and weighing 160 pounds. He is known to be in the Selma and Marion areas.
