Police Lights

One person is dead and another injured after a crash occurred on U.S. 80 in Lowndes County on Wednesday night. 

According to a report from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) Carl Johnson, 61, of Selma, was a passenger inside of a 2007 Honda Accord being driven by Rosland G. Perkins, 64, also of Selma. 

The vehicle left the road and struck a tree, killing Johnson and injuring Perkins, who was transported Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery for treatment.

The crash took place at approximately 1:21 a.m. on U.S. 80 near the 115 mile marker, approximately two miles east of Lowndesboro.
