Soldiers Saluting

The 14th annual Pike Road Veterans Appreciation will be held on Nov. 2 at the Pike Road Veterans Memorial. 

Music will be provided by the Capitol Sounds Concert Band at 1:30 p.m. 

The event will include the Veterans Walk of Honor, dedication of new commemorative bricks, Presentation of the Colors, and remarks from a "distinguished guest speaker" whose name was not menioned.

Afterwards Mayor Gordon Stone will dedicate personalized bricks in honor of individual veterans, followed by the Pike Road Quilters present a handmade quilt to a veteran.

The ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. at the memorial on 4902 Pike Road.
