Under a clear blue sky, just days after a major storm wreaked havoc on the Queen City, Selma inaugurated the new mayor and city council members into office during a ceremony at Selma High School on Monday.
The last several years have been stormy for Selma’s elected officials, with infighting between the mayor and council that led to frequent inaction.
New City Council President Warren “Billy” Young said in his acceptance speech that there is now peace in the midst of the storm.
