Absentee ballots and elections supplies are now available to Marion residents as the municipal election approaches.Â
In a post on social media the City of Marion stated that issuance of absentee ballots by both mail and by onsite hand delivery has begun. Absentee ballots by mail may be done upon request and with proper credentials.Â
The post stated that absentee voting can be done in adherence to these regulations:Â
- The use of Power of Attorney or any other third party to sign and/or deliver the application on behalf of the voter is strictly prohibited.
- Only in the case of a medical emergency may an absentee application be submitted by the voter’s designated representative.
"We encourage eligible voters to adhere to all requirements and deadlines to ensure proper processing of their absentee voting materials," said the post.Â
