The Alabama Cooperative Extension System (ACES) will hold its Alabama Agricultural Outlook Conference on Wednesday, Dec. 13.
The conference will address what has been reported as falling farm income and challenges to finding agricultural work. It is being held in collaboration with faculty in Auburn University’s Colleges of Agriculture and Forestry, Wildlife and Environment.
“It’s a time for producers to reflect on the current year as they plan for next year,” ACES agricultural economist Adam Rabinowitz said. “Our speakers will be addressing very timely issues, including agricultural labor, farm financials and marketing risk management. It’s a great opportunity to understand how national issues and trends affect Alabama agriculture and our state’s producers.”
The following agenda and topics will be addressed:
- Agricultural labor opportunities
- Agricultural risk management for crops and cattle
- Farm financials
- Timber market and trending topics
- Commercial poultry markets
- Catfish industry update
The conference will be held at the Alabama Farmers Federation on 2108 East South Blvd in Montgomery.
