Alabama Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday begins today

The Alabama Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday begins today and will end at midnight on Sunday, July 19.

The holiday will allow shoppers to buy school supplies and clothing without Alabama’s four percent sales or use tax.

There will be no sales tax on $100 or less per item of clothing and footwear, $50 or less per item for certain school supplies, $750 or less on single purchases of computers and computer equipment, $30 or less on any book and $50 or less on textbooks.
