The Alabama Medical Cannabis Commission (AMCC) will consider the types of licenses to give out to multiple businesses that applied to grow hemp for medical marijuana.Â
According to Alabama Political Reporter the Alabama Medical Cannabis Association conference took place recently took place in which AMCC executive director John McMillian gave some updates, though he could not spare many details ahead of an upcoming executive session on June 12.Â
During the conference he told attendants that he could not say if each business would get the kind of license they requests because of the amount that applied. 90 businesses have applied since the April 13 deadline.Â
But the commission will review and consider this once an executive session takes place and then the licenses should be awarded. According to the report the following types were applied for:Â
- 12 cultivator applications
- 11 processor applications
- 18 dispensary applications
- 9 secure transporter applications
- 2 state testing laboratory applications
- 38 integrated facility applications
After this doctors in Alabama may begin giving medical cannabis to patients who qualify.Â
