Alabama Power Foundation taking applications for tree planting program

Alabama Power Foundation is taking applications for its Good Roots grant program to provide tree planting and beautification services for communities. 

Grants will be awarded up to $1,000, says powerofgood.com, which provides a link to apply.

Groups that are eligible for grants are local governments, city and county school systems, universities and 501 (c)(3) organizations.

Applications will be accepted through April 29.
