Alabama is set to get 40,100 doses of the new Johnson & Johnson single-dose COVID vaccine this week.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has issued Emergency Use Authorization for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine for individuals 18 years of age and older, and the Alabama Department of Public Health said Monday that Alabama will receive 40,100 doses of the vaccine this week.
"At this time, it will be a one-time allotment, and we do not know when the state will receive additional Johnson & Johnson vaccine," ADPH said in a statement.
