Dallas Hinton

A crash report from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) states what happened to lead to the death of Thomasville Police Officer Dallas Hinton in April. 

According to Fox 10 News, Hinton had been driving back to the police station near the end of his shift. 

He was traveling in the same northbound lane as an 18-wheeler on Highway 43 on April 22. He was reportedly driving at an estimated 134 mph on a 45 mph zone when his car hit the end of the 18-wheeler and exploded. 

Hinton was a former Marine who was engaged to be married and had been with the department for two years.
