The Black Belt Community Foundation (BBCF) awarded more than $365,000 in arts and community grants to multiple organizations in its service area.Â
The grants were announced at the 2026 Arts & Community Grants Awards ceremony held on Saturday in Selma.Â
"We'd like to congratulate all of the 2026 Community & Arts Grants winners," said a post on social media by the BBCF. "Hundreds gathered [Saturday] in Selma, and we all celebrated their dedication to community through their work and service."
Among the recipients was Our Forever Heart in Selma. This was their first grant, said a post online.Â
BBCF's coverage area includes Bullock, Choctaw, Dallas, Greene, Hale, Lowndes, Macon, Marengo, Perry, Pickens, Sumter and Wilcox counties.
