Beyond the Bridge Freedom Fest is set for Aug. 25 and 26 in downtown Selma to feature three events.Â
The festival will have live panels, health screenings, vendors, and a gala celebrating the signing of the Voting Rights Act.Â
On Friday, Aug. 5 will be "57 Years Later and Why Selma Still Matters" from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.Â
On Saturday, Aug. 6 will be "Beyond the Bridge Community Festival" from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Following this will be "Voting Rights Birthday Bash Honoring the Signing of the Voting Rights Act" at 8 p.m.Â
All events will be free, though the gala requires RSVP. They will be held at the Anchor/Phoenix Park in downtown Selma.Â
