Camden Municipal Airport is one of 11 other airports to be awarded grants from the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) for improvement projects.
$3.1 million in grants is coming from ALDOT’s Alabama Airport Improvement Funding Program, said an announcement online.
Camden Municipal Airport was awarded two grants:
- $447,094 to rehabilitate Mill and Overlay runway 18/36 – Phase 2 Construction-AIG.
- $87,718 to rehabilitate Mill and Overlay runway 18/36 – Phase 2 Construction-AIP.
“Safe, reliable airport facilities require continued investment,” said Frank Farmer, bureau chief of ALDOT’s Aeronautics Bureau. “These grants will help local airports address important needs and maintain facilities that pilots, businesses and communities can depend on.”
