A woman from Camden has been indicted for felony theft and identity theft, said an announcement from Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall.Â
Angela Blackmon Barge, 56, was reportedly indicted on Wednesday and is currently being held on a $90,000 cash-only bond after Marshall’s Special Prosecutions Division presented evidence to a Wilcox County grand jury on Feb. 9.Â
Barge was charged with one count of aggravated theft by deception and two counts of identity theft stemming from her allegedly using others’ identities to steal more than $220,000 from a previous employer.
"The aggravated-theft charge is an elevated Class B felony punishable by between five years and thirty years in prison, and a fine up to $60,000," said the announcement. "The identity theft charges are Class B felonies punishable by between two and twenty years in prison and a fine of up to $30,000 for each offense."
In 2025 Barge was accused theft of property and computer tampering. She was charged Barge with stealing $437,402 from the Wilcox County Water and Sewer District. These are unrelated to the most recent charges.
She pleaded not guilty to the older charges and has a trial set for November. Her trial for the recent charges is set for March 26 at 9 a.m.Â
