The WoodmenLife Chapter #1916 in Camden is the Wilcox Area Chamber of Commerce's (WACC) Business of the Month for the month of January.Â
According to the chamber WoodmenLife was founded in 1890 and was a non-profit life insurance that was dedicated to community service.Â
"WoodmenLife is more than a life insurance company," said an announcement. "When a member purchases a policy from WoodmenLife, proceeds go to help support the scholarship program for students pursuing higher education, donations to First Responders, and community projects that make communities better places to live."
The chapter takes part in Bus Driver Appreciation Day, First Responder Luncheon, beautification projects, sponsoring children through the Wilcox County DHR Christmas for Children project and fruit bags for senior citizens at Christmas time, as well as scholarships.Â
They are also active in WACC events such as the VFD Raffle during Christmas in Camden and providing support during the Mark Curl BBQ Cookoff and Big Buck contest, said the announcement.Â
