A poll from businesselectric.com says that Perry and Choctaw counties are among 150 locations that are ideal for off-grid living.Â
Off-grid living is a lifestyle set primarily in rural areas where residents are self-sufficient and closer to nature.Â
""In these challenging times, many are looking to reconnect with nature and live more sustainably," said says Sam Allcock of BusinessElectric.com. "Our survey highlights the top destinations for those ready to take the leap into off-grid living, offering diverse and inspiring options across the country."
Choctaw was noted for its less populated areas with large parcels of land up for purchase.Â
"The abundant natural resources, including forests and water bodies, make it suitable for sustainable living," said a press release sent to media. "The county's remote nature ensures a high degree of privacy and minimal interference from urban developments."
Perry County was highlighted for its tracts of undeveloped land. Like Choctaw it is also ripe for agricultural life and sustainable living.Â
"The area's fertile soil is excellent for gardening and farming, and the presence of creeks and rivers provides water sources," the press release adds. "The community is supportive of alternative living arrangements, making it easier to integrate into the local lifestyle."
