The Clarke County Sheriff's Office is warning of a scam that targets citizens by claiming that they have warrants and demanding money.Â
An announcement stated that scammers are posing as members of the sheriff's department to convince people to send funds for warrants that do not exist.Â
The Clarke County Sheriff's Office stresses that they will never call citizens to collect money. Anything that requires payment must be done at the physical location of a government building.Â
Anyone who has been targeted by this scam is advised to notify their local law enforcement agency.Â
