The Clarke-Mobile Counties (CMC) Gas District Board of Directors is mourning the loss of its Director of Economic Development, Rosalyn Sales, who passed away on Jan. 6.

According to an announcement from CMC Sales began in 2020 and generated more than $1 billion in investments and over 300 jobs. She served Washington and Clarke counties, including Thomasville, Grove Hill and Jackson.

"We are deeply saddened by the passing of our friend and colleague," said Thomasville Mayor Sheldon Day, who is a member of the board. "Rosalyn was highly respected in the Economic Development Profession in Alabama. She was always the high energy person in every room she entered. True strangers would enter the room and become friends with Rosalyn before the end of the meeting."

"The City of Jackson mourns the passing of Rosalyn and we extend our deepest condolences to her family and loved ones," said Jackson Mayor Audra Raybon, who is also a board member. "We are sincerely grateful for her outstanding service, dedication, and leadership in her role as Economic Developer."

"One of the biggest champions for Southwest Alabama, she worked tirelessly for each municipality, no matter the size," said Grove Hill Mayor Ross Wood. "Ros was constantly ringing the bell for projects large and small. She had an unwavering love for the citizens that extended beyond her job as economic developer."
