A cold weather advisory is in effect throughout Alabama on Wednesday night through Thursday.

According to the Dallas County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) wind chills as low as 15 degrees are expected for areas across South-Central Alabama during this time.

The EMA urges residents to use precautions as temperatures drop for the next couple of days. Frostbite and hyperthermia can occur if skin is exposed to frigid weather and so warm clothing is advised if outdoors. Pets should not be outside as well.

A warming center will be open in Montgomery from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. on 3446 Lebron Road.
