Jo Taylor and tornado mosaic

Artist Jo Taylor is pleased with the amount and colors received so far but is asking for more.

The public is invited to a community mosaic inspired by the Jan. 12 tornado to be held on May 6 at Gallery 905 during the 1st Saturday event in Selma.

The mosaic is the brainchild of artist Jo Taylor, who has received pieces of glass and other materials that were broken in the tornado to be used for the project.

"Jo Taylor was inspired after the tornado to gather broken glass, pottery, china, from the tornado damage to build something beautiful together that would help facilitate healing in our community," said a post on 1st Saturday Selma's Facebook page.

Gallery 905 will also host a "Pottery Pop-Up Shop" for those looking for Mother's Day and graduation presents.
