Construction is about to begin on a Splash Pad in downtown Selma.
Mayor Darrio Melton said construction was supposed to have begun Tuesday but will start as soon as the weather breaks. Melton said it should take between 45 to 60 days to complete, depending on weather.
The Splash Pad water attraction will be built next to Butterfly Park on the banks of the Alabama River. “We are excited that people will have something to do with their families when they are in downtown Selma,” Melton said.
