Crash causes major damage to South Perry Street bridge in Montgomery

A crash involving four vehicle has caused major damage to the South Perry Street bridge in the area of I-85 Southbound on Tuesday morning. 

According to the Montgomery Alabama Emergency Management, the crash involved an 18-wheeler, though only minor injuries were reported. 

All of the I-85 southbound lanes near the South Union Street exit and the South Perry Street bridge are currently closed for repairs.

Motorists are being asked to try and avoid the area. Detours can be taken at the highway system at Exit 6, Eastern Boulevard.
