The Morgan Academy varsity baseball team took two out of three games against Fort Dale this past week.
On Monday, March 25 in the first game of a three-game set and won 3-2.
Morgan was led on the mound by junior Barron Frazer, who scattered five hits but also had a most impressive 14 strikeouts through seven innings.
The Senators were led at the plate by Speedy Parnell. Parnell had two hits, including a triple, reached base four times, and scored all three of the Senators' runs.
In the home doubleheader played on Wednesday, March 27, Morgan Academy took game one 6-4. A combination of Senators toed the mound with Cade Henderson coming in the last inning to preserve the win.Â
Parnell led the Senators at the plate with a double and two walks scoring three runs. Frazer, Caden Tellier, and Harrison Jones also had hits.Â
The Senators lost the second game 16-6.
On Friday, March 29, the Senators played Lowndes Academy and lost 5-3.
The Senators varsity is now 11-5 as of Friday.
The Morgan Academy junior varsity baseball team lost to Fort Dale Dale 7-0 on Monday, March 25. Clifton Smith and Travis Jones had hits.
In softball coming back from spring break, on Monday, March 25, the Morgan Academy Lady Senators varsity lost to Fort Dale Academy 11-0 while the junior varsity lost to Fort Dale 9-1.
On Wednesday, March 27, the Lady Senators varsity lost to Fort Dale 13-0 and 14-6.Â
On Thursday, March 28 the Lady Senators varsity lost to Lee-Scott 8-0, and the junior varsity lost a heartbreaker in extra innings to Lee-Scott 2-1.
