A deer management and herd health seminar will be held by the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (ADCN) in Livingston on Sept. 8.
The Livingston seminar will be one of several to be held throughout Alabama until Nov. 5.
These events aim to education herd health, population and harvest trends, deer restoration history in Alabama, the Deer Management Assistance Program (DMAP), and strategies for managing deer and their habitats.
"White-tailed deer are one of Alabama's most valued natural resources," said a description on ADCNR's website. "Sound management of both the deer herd and its habitat is essential to maintaining healthy populations and providing quality hunting opportunities for generations to come."
The Livingston seminar will be held at the University of West Alabama Campus on 80 Alfa Drive from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
