Another Demopolis teen has died in a car crash in January.
A 17-year-old died in a single-vehicle crash in Marengo County at 12:15 a.m. Saturday, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
The teen was fatally injured when the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado he was driving left the roadway, entered a ditch and struck a tree. He was pronounced deceased at the scene, the ALEA statement says.
The crash occurred on Marengo County 44 near Marengo County 39, approximately two miles south of Dayton in Marengo County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
Demopolis High School posted that the teen is Hunter Howell, a junior on the golf team.
A car crash on Jan. 6 on Highway 80 near Faunsdale claimed the life of another Demopolis High School junior Braleigh Busbee. Her boyfriend Zachery Tucker was badly injured and is still undergoing treatment at a Birmingham hospital. That crash also killed a 75-year-old Pine Hill man.
