Election runoff results from Dallas County

The primary election runoffs were held yesterday for the positions of U.S. Senate, governor and the District 23 senate seat. 

Malika Sanders Fortier from Selma lost to Yolanda Flowers in the Democratic bid for governor. Robert Stewart won the Democratic nomination for State Senate District 23 and Katie Britt won the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate. 

The results for votes in Dallas County were made available to view. The numbers overwhelming favored the Democratic party, with most of the votes for the nomination for governor going to Fortier. 

The results are as follows:

Ballots cast - Total: 6,627 

Ballots cast - Alabama Democratic Party: 6,309 - 95.20% 

Ballots cast - Alabama Republican Party: 318 - 4.80%
