The first TR-3 F-35 has arrived at the Dannelly Field at Alabama Air National Guard in Montgomery, said a recent announcement from the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce.

The plane is a product of Lockheed Martin sporting the Technology Refresh 3 (TR-3) software, a computer processing electronics upgrade said to enhance is combat capabilities.

"We weren’t expecting to receive more jets until the end of the year, but the timing couldn’t have been more perfect.” said Col. Christopher Germann, 187th Fighter Wing Deputy Commander. “With the additional aircraft, we can provide the maximum amount of training to continue to be proficient and effective with these jets. The overall result will be increased flying hours for our pilots and hands on experience for our maintainers.”

The aircraft flew from Fort Worth in Texas and landed in Montgomery on July 19.

The TR-3 F-35, a symbol of advanced technology and innovation, will play a crucial role in enhancing our national defense capabilities. Its arrival underscores Alabama's growing prominence in aerospace and defense.
