Boy Scout troop 46 on Saturday held an Eagle Court of Honor ceremony at Cornerstone Presbyterian to honor four scouts that earned their Eagle ranking.
Jack Johnson, Grant Arrington, Owen Sansom and Rhett Thomas were given their Eagle pins and celebrated with scout leaders and family.Â
They also honored Fred McCormick, a longtime Selma scout master who died in December 2023. These four scouts are the last McCormick will have worked with to reach Eagle.
The scouts had to complete a major project to achieve the Eagle status. Arrington cleaned a cemetery, Johnson cleared the grounds of Sturdivant Hall after sustaining 2023 tornado damage, Sansom cleaned and remodeled the Craig Field Volunteer Fire Department training classroom and Thomas cleaned the veteran monuments at Memorial Stadium.Â
