A fugitive who is wanted for allegedly sexually assaulting a child is believed to be in the Montgomery area, said an announcement by CrimeStoppers on Thursday. 

The fugitive was identified as James Thomas Meyer. The offense reportedly occurred in Winnebago County in Illinois. 

Anyone who has information is asked to contact the MPD at 334-625-2831.
