The Freedom Quilting Bee Legacy Museum has partnered with Flawless Delivery Alabama for workforce and hospitality training and will hold a graduation ceremony on Tuesday.

“One of our values is to ‘Make it Better, ’ and this training enables us to invest in our people,” said Keya Nkonoki, Director of Marketing and Tourism of Freedom Quilting Bee Legacy. “By partnering with Flawless Delivery Alabama, we are ensuring that residents have access to high-quality professional development without having to leave the community.”

A press release from the museum stated that the training builds from "self-sufficiency and entrepreneurship" of the communities on County Road 29 in Wilcox County.

The historic community is known for its tradition of quilting going back decades when residents struggled to make ends meet during a time of discrimination and poverty.

“We are preparing the communities of Gee’s Bend and Alberta for the future and the opportunities and atmosphere that local non-profits - the Legacy and Sew Gee’s Bend Heritage Builders - are developing in ecotourism and welcoming the thousands of visitors each year," said Kim V. Kelly, Executive Director, Freedom Quilting Bee Legacy.

The ceremony will be held at the Welcome Center at 12021 County Road 29 in Alberta.
