Gee's Bend quilter Fannie Etheridge was featured on a recent episode of Quick-Fire Tips by Alabama Public Radio (APR).Â
Etheridge is also a member of the Freedom Quilting Bee, located in the Boykin community of Wilcox County that is home to a history of quilters who often used their craft to get by during impoverished times.Â
She told APR host Baillee Majors that she has been quilting for 30 years, becoming involved with the Quilting Bee after being laid off from a sewing factory.Â
