Following an announcement made on Friday, Nov. 12, Greene County Hospital and Nursing Home in Eutaw has received $521,100 in funds secured by Rep. Terri Sewell (AL-09).

The money was part of $42.8 million secured in the Fiscal Year 2023 for the Seventh District. It will be used to install generators to protect patients in case of power outages.

“The hard-working health care professionals at the Greene County Hospital and Nursing Home provide essential care to so many here in West Alabama” said Sewell.

“I am thrilled to have secured $521,100 for this facility to ensure that they can continue that critical work. This funding will help upgrade the hospital’s generators so that patients are protected in the case of a power outage. This is all about making our community safer, stronger, and more prosperous.”

Sewell presented the money on the same day that she attended Veterans Day celebrations in Pickens and Green counties.
