A man from Greenville was sentenced to 10 years in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm after a traffic stop in 2023.Â
A statement from U.S. Attorney Kevin Davidson Undray Lamond Lowery, 41, was pulled over by a Greenville police officer on Jan. 1, 2023 when his vehicle matched the description of one that may have been present during a shooting incident the night before.Â
The officer found that Lowery had outstanding warrants and was placed under arrest. His vehicle was searched and a handgun was recovered. During the investigation, Lowery was found to have prior felony convictions and was prohibited from owning guns and ammunition.Â
He pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a gun. He will serve three years of supervised release after his term expires.Â
