A Greenville police officer was involved in the shooting of a suspect during an incident on Monday night.Â
According to WAKA, the shooting took place on Gravel Hill Road at around 9 p.m. The suspect was identified as Gray McNeil Vinson, 33.
He was reportedly armed with a handgun when he was confronted by police and then shot when he raised it at the officers.
Greenville Police Chief Justin Lovvorn said that the case has been turned over to the Alabama State Bureau of Investigation.
