HD Hyundai Power Transformers USA in Montgomery recently celebrated a $14 million expansion project that will reportedly create more jobs and stimulate the local economy.

An announcement from the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce said that the expansion will create 50 new jobs and will increase productivity by 10%.

“This expansion will deepen the company’s roots in the state and extend our partnership to a new level,” said HD-HPT President and Chief Operating Officer C.G. Son.

The expansion includes the construction of a new warehouse and expanding yard storage to house materials and spare parts. It will also include acquiring a new modular transporter for the movement of parts and materials.

The company will hire 15 employees for the new storage and warehouse before increasing to 50.

“This expansion by HD Hyundai Power Transformers USA, Inc. is a testament to Montgomery’s thriving business environment and our commitment to fostering economic growth," said Montgomery Mayor Steven L. Reed.

"It highlights the success of our ongoing economic development efforts and reinforces our position as a key player in the global market.  We are proud to support HD-HPT in this exciting new chapter and look forward to seeing its positive impact on our community."
