A heat advisory is in effect for multiple counties, including several in the Black Belt, until 9 p.m. on Tuesday.Â
Heat index values will be up to 107 for Autauga, Bibb, Dallas, Greene, Hale, Lowndes, Marengo, Montgomery, Perry, Pickens, Sumter, and Tuscaloosa counties.
As temperatures climb high heat illnesses such as heat stroke can occur. The public is advised to stay hydrated and keep indoors.Â
Those working outdoors are recommended to take frequent breaks in shaded areas.Â
