The Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation and Greenfield Village in Dearborn, MI will unveil a historic object from the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s.
The living room chair that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. sat in while watching President Lyndon B. Johnson's “We Shall Overcome” speech will be displayed for the public on Jan. 19.
According to a press release from the museum the chair was once housed in the Jackson Home where MLK Jr. stayed in during the voting rights movement in Selma at the time.
The home was moved from Selma to Dearborn and is slated to open in June.
