The Internal Revenue Service or IRS will visit Thomasville on April 28-30 to provide information and services on various tax-related topics.Â
Attendants can receive help on:Â
• Account inquiries (help with letters, notices and levies on wages or bank account)
• Adjustments (changes to tax account information or payments)
• Basic tax law assistance (answers related to individual Federal Tax Returns)
• Payment arrangements. Because this is a temporary location, IRS employees cannot accept payments of any kind. Taxpayers are encouraged to make payments online.
• Authentication of taxpayer identities as part of the Taxpayer Protection Program (TPP)
• Transcripts and tax forms (order only)
• Information on IRS.gov resources and tools
The event will be held at the Thomasville Public Library at 559 West Front Street from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.Â
To make appointments call 615-250-5328, though walk-in assistance is available.Â
Attendants must bring current state or government issued photo identification and any relevant letters or notices they received from the IRS, as well as requested documents.
Foreign language interpreters will be available through an over-the-phone translation service. For those who are deaf or hard of hearing individuals and need sign language interpreter services, IRS employees can schedule appointments for a later date or call TTY/TDD 800-829-4059.
Anyone who would like to speak to an IRS employee but cannot attend the event may call 844-545-5640 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
