Gee's Bend on Ivey's travel list

Gee's Bend, the community in Boykin famed for their quilts, is on a list of favorite travel spots for Gov. Kay Ivey. 

In the list titled "Alabama Favorites" Gee's Bend was noted for being the home of The Pecan on Broad and the Gaines Ridge Dinner Club.

The history of Gee's Bend is famous for the community's quilting before and during the Civil Rights Movement as a way of financial support. The quilting tradition continues to this very day. 

Others to be included were Monroeville, Lake Jordan, and Gulf Shores.
